PRAGUE, 1920 A beautifully preserved prewar Stradivari model, #12 is in near mint condition. The back is of two piece narrow, evenly flamed maple, slightly descending from the center seam. Ribs and scroll of similar maple, and top of beautifully straight grained spruce. The varnish, well preserved showing hardly any wear, is of a rose-brown color over a yellow ground on the top and a golden amber graduating towards red on the back and ribs. This example upholds the Juzek pre-war reputation for consistently producing attractive, affordable violins with an excellent sound. The tone is deep, majestic and powerful...particularly bold on the lower strings and with amazing character. We feel this example is the most powerful of the group of Juzeks we now offer. Juzeks are deservedly popular. They are often played extensively and often show much wear and tear. Examples in this state of preservation are rarely found. This particular violin is hand signed and dated by the maker March 25th, 1920. QUESTIONS? UB: 16.7 cm MB: 11.3 cm LB: 20.7 cm LOB: 35.9 cm Shipping and Handling: $35.00 |
