Bologna, 1984, Carfagna and Rossi Certificates A handsome example of the modern Bolognese school. This Italian violin was acquired from a collector in Rome. Comes with certificates by Carfagna of Rome and John Rossi of New York. The label is signed by the maker and the back, neck block and neck under fingerboard are branded "E. Piretti." Constructed on the Strad pattern from a beautiful one-piece maple back and matching ribs and scroll. Cleanly inlaid purfling and command of fine details of execution. Covered with a lustrous oil varnish of reddish tone over a yellow ground. In near mint condition with no cracks or damage anywhere. The tone is powerful and burnished with deep, dark power.
