STEFANO RENZI

Stringnet is proud to introduce violin and lute maker Stefano Renzi.

Stefano was born in Italy in 1971. He graduated from the violin making school ZENESZOLGALTAT - MUSIKALSCH founded by Remény Ede in Budapest, Hungary followed by an apprenticeship with the Roman maker Gilberto Losi and others of the most talented luthiers and experts in the Italian capital. His apprenticeship was dedicated to the construction of stringed instruments as well as the collection and restoration of antique instruments from around the world for his private collection.
When building a violin viola or cello, Stefano pays much attention to acoustics. This topic has been the subject of years of research and study. He considers sound the most important priority for his customers and makes this the primary goal all his work. He uses only personally selected old, naturally seasoned, resonant spruce and maple. Stefano Renzi’s instruments are increasingly being recognized and appreciated internationally by many musicians.
His passion for perfection pushes Stefano in a constant search for improvement, following the footsteps of the incomparable masters of the past who have giving Italian violin-making its worldwide reputation.
